The health group HM Hospitales has reported that “almost 1,300” patients participated in 2022 in clinical trials of its Research Foundation (FiHM), which triples the number of three years ago and so “is consolidated as the Spanish private institution of reference in the field of clinical trials thanks to the impact that these have on patients”.
As this management group points out, throughout 2022, it developed “a total of 335 studies, 88 more than those promoted in 2021, and in which 1,296 patients have participated”. “Sixty-seven per cent of this research, 225 trials, are oncological in nature, involving a total of 422 patients,” he explains.
“The data of research activity in 2022 endorse our goal of becoming one of the most prominent Spanish institutions in this field,” says the president of HM Hospitales, Dr. Juan Abarca Cidón, who adds that “research is part of the DNA of HM Hospitales and in this 2023 will celebrate 20 years of existence”.
