In a press release, the Andalusian Regional Government has shown its collaboration with Farmaindustria in the promotion of R&D&I in health, with special emphasis on clinical trials.
Following the meeting between the Secretary General for Public Health and Health Research, Development and Innovation of the Regional Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs, Isaac Túnez, and the Governing Council of the employers’ association of pharmaceutical companies based in Spain, the regional government has issued a press release detailing the joint work, which can be read in full here.
It highlights lines of collaboration such as the recent pilot study for remote monitoring in clinical trials carried out in Andalusian Health Service (SAS) centres, in which several health centres and nine companies associated with Farmaindustria are participating.
In addition to this pilot project, the Regional Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs has collaborated in the project of the Guide of good practice recommendations for the promotion of clinical research in Primary Care, launched by the Association and in which representatives of the Progreso y Salud Foundation and researchers from the Community have participated. This project is in line with Andalusia’s strategy to promote clinical trials at this level of care.
In the field of dissemination, Malaga – through the Biomedical Research Institute of Malaga, Ibima – has already held five editions of the Farmaindustria programme “Bringing science to schools”, which seeks to disseminate the value of drug R&D among young students.
Another area of collaboration is the Farma-Biotech Cooperation Programme, with which Andalusia collaborates through the Granada Health Technology Park and which seeks to promote the connection of pre-clinical researchers with pharmaceutical companies.
